Engineering Manager - Pump & Motor

About the role:
Reporting to the Pump & Motor Director, you will lead the engineering team of the Pump & Motor organization relatively to shop activities, manufacturing and operations on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the effective operations of the team: ensure standards of quality (including effective management of the corrective action program), cost (including utilization of resources to meet assigned targets), safety (both ensuring a NSC as well as personnel and Industrial safety), reliability and performance are met in production processes;
- Develop resources and lead people development activities. Prepare and implement training and development plans whit emphasis on long-term resource needs;
- Develop engineering skills and Product Management skills within your team to ensure an added value to the customer;
- Scan the environment to verify products and services are adding value to both the customer and Westinghouse;
- Develop solutions to create customer value in collaboration with appropriate Westinghouse organizations;
- Identify unmet customer needs through appropriate market channels especially direct customer interaction. Develop and successfully implement product business plan – considering “breakthrough” technologies and cost improvement objectives;
- Identify and allocate resources for each project need, from the technical offer phase to the end of execution. Justify & commit on the as-sold version the allocated hours required to perform the engineering job;
- Develop strategic focus, communicate vision for future and promote culture that aligns with organizational goals;
- Establish overall product revenue, profitability, growth objectives, market penetration and brand identification objectives, and monitors achievements;
- Orchestrate and drive profitable product or service growth which meets or exceeds revenue and margin objectives;
- Drive technology continuous improvement and standardization.
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree or equivalent in or related field;
- 10-15 years of experience;
- Collaborate cross-functionally, as well as upstream and downstream, to create alignment and ensure work is done right the first time;
- Demonstrate sound contract knowledge, use approved commercial processes, manage work to terms, scope;
- Ability to get customers to cooperate and grant approval.
