RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Follow up on the APQP process as part of the launch of new products.
  • Coordinate technical reviews and develop supplier capabilities to meet BorgWarner requirements.
  • Develop supplier resources to meet BW requirements.
  • Conduct quality training for suppliers.
  • Coordinate performance improvement actions for suppliers to achieve established goals.
  • Coordinate the resolution of technical problems at the supplier.
  • Follow established procedures and work to identify best practices.
  • Review work performed according to technical opinion, analyzing the overall situation against predefined goals.
  • Participate in the definition of commodity strategy.
  • Drive process improvements.
  • Comply with environmental, energy efficiency, occupational health and safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Comply with organizational rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, practice, and schedule.
  • Respect safety and cleanliness rules at the workplace.
  • Respect and comply with Environmental Management Policy, Energy Efficiency, Occupational Health and Safety rules.
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of Environmental Management Policy, Energy Efficiency, Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Efficiently use different energy sources, adopting practices that promote energy consumption reduction and responsible use of resources, according to the SGE Policy.
  • Perform other tasks not included in the activity for which you were hired, when service needs or convenience justify it, for the necessary period of time.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, Master's degree (preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in Quality and/or Process Engineering in the automotive industry or related fields.
  • Knowledge in manufacturing problem-solving (8-D Methodology) and necessary manufacturing processes with emphasis on Six Sigma methods (DMAIC).
  • Knowledge of QS-9001/IATF 16949 requirements, including APQP and PPAP.
  • Knowledge of SPC.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Lotus Notes, Minitab, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and/or concrete variables.
  • Good English language skills (spoken and written).
