GNC Engineer

We are looking for an intermediate-level GNC engineer, with experience in real-life GNC projects (and their life cycle) and who is motivated to develop GNC capabilities for our sounding rocket SR75 and for our orbital vehicle SL1.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop vehicle models to be used for algorithm design and verification purposes
  • Qualify and verify model accuracy by means of testing and analysis
  • Develop Verification and Validation (V&V) tools for our rockets’ GNC systems
  • Integrate numerical algorithms to embedded flight software
  • Work closely with other teams to enable the successful integration of critical interfaces
  • Take part in peer-review processes for GNC development

Basic Qualification:

  • Proficiency in dynamic system modelling, system identification and control
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink
  • Experience with Python applied to signal processing, numerical algorithms or dynamic systems
  • Experience in C++ for embedded software development
  • Experience with version control systems (Git/SVN) and CI/CD workflows
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Pro-active communication skills and collaborative spirit
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving mentality
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; German proficiency is an advantage

Desired Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Control Systems, Electronics or Electrical Engineering is preferred; Aerospace, Aeronautical, Automation and Computer systems engineering disciplines will also be considered
  • 3+ years of experience in the GNC or control/modelling domain
  • Experience with embedded electronic systems and software development
