About your future job

Within the SOTAS System Engineering Team, your primary responsibility will be to develop the operational user needs into an envisioned solution, as new capabilities for the SOTAS product line. Given the nature of the SOTAS products and systems, a multidisciplinary approach is essential to achieve the reliability on which the crew of a military vehicle depends to accomplish their missions. This requires a good understanding of engineering, validation, certification and manufacturing products that both mechanically and electronically display a high degree of field-proven robustness.

As a system engineer, you will balance the product requirements with the contributions of everyone involved with their realization. The SOTAS System Engineering Team applies the agile principles for its development activities.

Being part of our group means that you will be involved in various activities: there will be a moment to discuss your solutions with the consultants, and there will be time to define the interaction between our systems and other systems in the vehicle. You will frequently meet with your team to learn from each other and to discuss the progress as you strive for continuous improvement.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing and defining the requirements of SOTAS operational users.
  • Assessing and articulating how SOTAS can effectively meet operational needs.
  • Developing the system specification and system design, considering the interfaces between Thales (sub)systems and third-party systems.
  • Defining tasks and responsibilities for the Software and Hardware Competence Teams.
  • Enhancing system engineering processes, promoting agility, and fostering team collaboration.
  • Why you'd be a good match
  • Holds a degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Possesses a diverse background with a strong interest in technology across a wide range of areas.
  • Demonstrates extensive experience in product development, certification, and manufacturing.
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Is innovative, and maintains a proactive approach to challenges.
