STMicroelectronics (Malta) Ltd. is seeking to recruit Chemical Engineer within the CCFS – Site Services- Sustainability Department.

The job involves the management of sustainability relater projects and programs supporting the sustainability targets and long-term vision of STMicroelectronics.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The person will be responsible for being the main interface between Operation, Facilities and the Sustainability department;
The person will be responsible for monitoring and improvement together with Facilities department, the emissions, consumptions and efficiency of the company;
Planning and execution of sustainability projects in line with the Objectives of the company;
The person will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a systemic Chemical Management program, following automation of chemical distributions, and focusing on chemical usage efficiency part of the chemical reduction plan of the company;
The person will be responsible for assessing the associated risk of the chemical and raw materials used within the ST premises;
The person will be responsible for the Hazardous Substance Management of the site, in line with Corporate Standard Operational Procedure, local and EU requirements (such as REACH , RoHS etc.);
The person will be responsible for implementation of Chemical Reduction program;
The person will be responsible for develop and update company policies and procedures related to Sustainability;
The person will be responsible for the maintenance of the company’s ISO Standards;
The person will be the main interface between Central CCFS group and Corporate. Will be responsible to submit reports and take accountability for actions required;
The person will be directly involved in the applicable CSRD, EU Taxonomy and ESG adaptation.

Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate shall:

Hold minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Sciences, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics. (example: Environmental Engineer, Chemical Engineer, Bioengineer etc.);
Have proven knowledge of Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Physics;
Have experience or knowledge of the global and ST`s Sustainable Strategy;
Have proven understanding of the Legal Environmental context of Malta or Europe;
Have proven ability of leadership skills and project management;
Possess good communication skills in English, both verbal and written;
Be able to work independently and adopt the fast changes of the domain;
Be able to work with Standard Systems, such as ISO14001, ISO45001;
Be a good team player and flexible to adapt to different situations;
Understanding of Engineering Tools like SCADA and CAD;
User level of O365 tools.
