This Architect role will focus on the Technical aspects of our Defense objectives and opportunities in Finland and the Nordics, working closely with customers and partners and internal stakeholders to advance these objectives. Architect role will be the local eyes and ears for the global organization, and in that role will be asked to capture customer technical requirements on a broad range of topics.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

  • Subject matter expert on End-to-End Defense portfolio and product strategy, as well as unique requirements of Defense customers in Finland and the Nordic countries;
  • Capture and communicate customer requirements to broader global S&D Product Management and Engineering teams;
  • Guide design and implementation of prototypes and demonstrations to address customer use-cases;
  • Interact with customers and partners on a wide range of technical topics relevant and critical to the Defense solution and products. Facilitate engagement of senior technical staff from Bell Labs and other Nokia BGs as needed to address customer needs;
  • Coordinate with other key Architects and Product Managers in the Global Space and Defense Business Unit to enable and support local cross-functional team activities.
  • Author compelling proposals for government funding and responsible for authoring technical content for proposals to various government agencies and consortia (Business Finland, EDF, EDA, etc.). Personal contribution to architectural work packages to funded projects. Behave as Nokia Single Point of Contact towards governmental agencies and consortia;
  • Knowledge and experience in both Product and Network architecture domains, and key integration/intersection points between Nokia portfolio elements and interoperable interfaces. Hands-on experience with Proof of Concepts or Demonstrations which can be used to enable & accelerate engagements with 3rd parties.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You have:

  • Minimum 15 years experience, including senior technical and architecture roles;
  • Deep familiarity with one or more domains of a Defense Communications system (Core, Transport, RAN, Devices);
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, from Executive to Engineering levels;
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking capabilities & skills.

It would be great if you also had:

  • Knowledge of Finland Defense ecosystem and use-cases.
