We are looking for a Process Engineer - Technology Transfer to join our Swindon facility. This role will work closely with the New Product Introduction and Technical Services Team to identify novel product traits that require an engineering solution and then identify and implement the appropriate equipment at pilot or commercial scale.

You will be responsible for solving any technical challenges that may arise in introduction of the new equipment, as well as designing and purchasing the required equipment. Whilst working in accordance with quality and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.

The main duties of the role include

  • To provide engineering expertise to develop and optimise new or existing processes to ensure the product meets the processing specification. This will include, but is not limited to; experimentation, data analysis, modelling and simulation;
  • To use specialised technical knowledge and organisational skills to ensure that process scale up, demonstration and existing product development activities for Zydis products are completed;
  • To investigate innovative technologies to improve sustainability, yield, quality, efficiency and understand the product development process;
  • To develop engineering solutions and be proactive in resolving process problems and continuously improve the process;
  • To conduct appropriate product development activities to allow a robust process within the product knowledge space to be developed;
  • To provide technical support during the validation of products to achieve right first time introduction.

The Candidate

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering;
  • Engineering experience in a development and/or technology transfer and manufacturing environment preferably with experience in pharmaceutical equipment (Mixing, freeze drying, packaging, fluid dynamics, powder handling);
  • Experience of designing and purchasing the operational equipment for the required process;
  • Experience with designing process and statistical process control;
  • Proactive, methodical, with a ‘can do’ attitude, independent worker, problem solver.
