To support our Company’s growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to join our Telecommunications Unit and contribute to the design and development of RF electronic systems for Argotec Telecommunication products. The new colleague will work closely with the Telecommunication team as part of the Engineering department, supporting radio products and RF front-end development.

DUTIES

As an RF Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, the manufacturing process and test of RF subsystems, working closely with cross-functional Engineering teams, Operations and Procurement to deliver high quality, reliable and innovative space solutions.

The activities will include (but are not limited to):

• Analysis of system-level requirements and drafting of technical specifications;
• Definition of board-level requirements and hardware architecture;
• Management of technical documents (Design Description, Interface Control Document, Verification Control Document, Test Plan and Procedures, etc.);
• Design of RF front-end based on MMIC and HMIC circuits (HPA, LNA, mixers, oscillators, PLL, etc.), schematics and layout;
• Preliminary validation by means of electrical analysis and simulations (EMC, voltage/current/temperature/power derating, etc.);
• Definition and execution of test activities, including drafting of test plans/procedures and preparation of support equipment;
• Characterization of High-Frequency devices and circuits up to 40 GHz (S-Parameters, Nonlinear characterization measurements, noise figure measurements, phase noise measurement).

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Telecommunications or related fields) or other STEM disciplines;
• At least 5 years of experience in RF front-end development, preferably in the space industry;
• Proficiency in electronic hardware simulation and design operating in the frequency range 0.1 – 40 GHz using ADS, Altium and CST software;
• Excellent written and oral communication in English.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCES & SKILLS

• Experience in Telecommunication product development, preferably in avionics systems in space, defense and aeronautics industries;
• Experience with front-end for Radar applications;
• Experience with ultra-wideband receiver technologies;
• Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and instruments (VNA, Spectrum analyzer, etc.);
• Good knowledge of antenna theory and technologies: gain, polarization, patch, and patch array, etc.;
• Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and creativity to tackle technical challenges;
• Ability to work in a team, to adapt to a dynamic and fast-growing environment, and interact constructively with various business functions.

ADDITIONAL ASSETS

• Previous experience in aerospace/space industry projects will be considered as a plus;
• Experience in EMC qualification;
• Experience in Agile project management;
• Experience working with cross-functional teams;
• Previous experience in space projects compliant with ECSS/MIL standards;
• Knowledge of electronic FMEA and FTA;
• Attention to detail, strong commitment, and a growth mindset;
