How you'll contribute
- Designing and improving electro-mechanical systems and manufacturing processes
- Developing Prototypes and Testing Components for Functionality and Durability
- Collaborating with design teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness
- Identifying areas of process improvements to reduce cost and time
- Troubleshooting assembly, test issues and collaborating with Technicians and Engineers to resolve
- Developing and maintaining work instructions, assembly guides and technical documentation as well as tooling and fixtures
- Managing projects from design through production implementation across the domains of Software, Electrical and Mechanical design
Your first 12 months in the role: expectations and deliverables
Months 0-3
- Develop a clear understanding of our plant timelines and product timeline
- Develop a deep technical understanding of the key assembly and testing challenges for our plants
- Develop a clear view on Make vs. Buy in collaboration with our SCM team
- Support to ensure all our test-stands and plants have been defined in our MES in support of Continuous Improvement of our methods
Months 3-6
- Define a working DFx guideline for the assembly of electrical harnessing, mechanical assembly
- Take ownership of all product assembly procedures and sustain
- Drive cost reductions in the assembly and manufacture of your products by maturing your make vs. buy guidelines and finding suitable alternates for our designs
Months 6-12
- Lead medium to large scale process improvement projects
- Develop cost saving initiatives and propose capital investment projects
- Evaluate new manufacturing technologies and automation solutions
- Implement data driven decision-making for continuous improvement
About you
- Degree of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferable
- Hands on working styles and comfortable working in the unknown
- A base understanding of Lean Principles and Agile, always a plus
- Knowledge of best practices in defining work instructions
- English for daily use
