The role encompasses four main areas of responsibility: risk identification and mitigation, problem-solving, milestone approval, and knowledge management.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Drive Risk Analysis & Mitigation: Conduct thorough risk analysis, develop effective mitigation plans, and resolve major issues. Ensure alignment with Garrett and customer validation requirements, working closely with the D&C Team to meet project milestones.
• Approve Technology Maturity: Sign off on technology maturity, phase exits, and release letters. Measure reliability and risk levels at key milestones using predictive reliability tools.
• Incorporate Best Practices: Ensure lessons learned and state-of-the-art knowledge are integrated early in the process. Approve design reviews and ensure the D&C Team takes necessary actions to minimize launch issues and achieve BOM maturity on time.
• Lead Validation Planning: Structure and manage the Ph1-6 validation plan, including analysis, simulation, component testing, and validation on customer engines/vehicles.
• Support Customer Escalations: Address and resolve customer escalations related to risk management and mitigation.
• Manage Knowledge & Standards: Oversee electric boosting/fuel cell technology knowledge management and engineering standards quality. Continuously improve the Risk Management Process by capturing lessons learned, updating relevant documents (ExtFA, FMEA, TI, DVPnR, etc.), and defining efficient guidelines, checklists, and standard work.
• Enhance Technology Governance: Create standard technical maturity assessments to clearly communicate risks and validation gaps. Streamline processes and gather user feedback to enhance efficiency.
• Promote Knowledge Management: Collaborate with the ECOE, Product Line, and Application Engineering Knowledge Management Leader to identify knowledge gaps. Work with knowledge providers to develop training packages that address these needs and ensure knowledge is reused at all touchpoints.

We are looking for you if you have:

• Degree in Engineering
• Around 10 years of engineering experience with electrical products in an automotive or related environment
• Excellent technical skills in electrical motors, power controllers, and associated software
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence others (team builder for APQP, motivator for Platforms, facilitator for key project reviews)
• Ability to organize and conduct cross-functional meetings
• Problem-solving skills, familiarity with the 8D method
