Job Description

onsemi and the High Performance Sensing team is looking for an applications engineer to support and enable our fast-growing Single Pair Ethernet product line. Work with industry leaders to enable next generation wired interface solutions for onsemi.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical applications support to customers;
• Help debug product and system issues with customers designing in our products;
• Engage with customers as a technical leader and expert to help win new opportunities;
• Understand product system applications;
• Design and validate product evaluation boards;
• Verify critical specifications through bench testing and characterization;
• Define, design, and validate reference designs and product demo boards;
• Write promotional articles highlighting new products;
• Work closely with the Marketing Team to create technical marketing collateral;
• Create high quality datasheets and application notes;
• Train Sales and Distribution on existing and new products.

Qualifications

• BSEE degree or comparable technical degree;
• 5 years of hardware applications engineering experience (device and/or system level);
• System engineering expertise and understanding of Single Pair Ethernet or related field;
• Solid understanding of in-vehicle networking and/or industrial sensor communications;
• Experience designing and bench-testing PC boards;
• Familiarity with a scripting language (Python preferred);
• Experience running bench equipment to debug circuits in a lab setting;
• Experience with embedded systems (programming firmware);
• Clear and concise communication skills at all levels within onsemi and with customers;
• Experience in FPGA programming.
