This role will lead Autoliv’s European-based electronics engineering teams and will build stronger alignment and coordination among Innovation & Development, Platform & Global Product Management and Global Application Engineering. This leader will also work closely with the Autoliv China Electronics team (Eastern Electronics Center of Excellence) to ensure that both “East” and “West” teams are cooperating effectively to serve the Autoliv Global needs.

If you think you'll like to manage the following responsibilities at higher standards:

  • Work with VP Electronics and regional Electronics &Mechatronics leaders to define Autoliv’s long-term electronics strategy;
  • Lead the teams responsible for development and execution of E/E systems and components, driving stronger coordination and optimization between Development, Platform/GPM (Global Product Management), and Application Engineering teams;
  • Support Development, Platform/GPM, and Application Engineering leaders in overseeing and managing their team budgets, headcount, expense & CapEx forecasts, etc.;
  • Work closely with the Director of Global Electronics Process & QA to drive improvements in efficiency and effectiveness of electronics processes, ensuring that Autoliv Electronics meets automotive electronics standards;
  • Align with regional teams, especially with the China Electronics leader (Eastern Electronics CoE), to define how Electronics operates as a global “Center of Excellence” (i.e. enhance efficiency between regions and minimize redundancies);
  • Drive stronger integration and alignment with regional leadership in Europe and the Americas, as well as with Autoliv’s product line teams (primarily Seat Belt and Steering Wheel product lines);
  • Work with Electronics VP, Autoliv Research, Corporate Innovation and any other appropriate groups to determine approach for supporting advanced innovation projects;
  • Drive effective collaboration across other functions (e.g. purchasing, supplier quality, operations, sales), identifying needs and gaps in capabilities, and working with internal stakeholders to address them.

And if you have/are:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electronic or Software Engineer or equivalent;
  • More than 5 years in a global or regional leadership position as advance engineering in automotive electronics industry, passive or active, safety is a plus;
  • Excellent in reading and writing English;
  • French or German would be considered a plus;
  • Complete understanding of electronics systems design for automotive, system engineering, HW, SW, algorithms, control systems, communication protocols (CAN, LIN, …), and automotive standards (ASPICE, Functional Safety, Cybersecurity, etc.);
  • Knowledge of reliability of electronics systems (safety analysis, FTA, FMEA …);
  • Ability to lead local and international teams, including administrative and financial, human and material resources management;
  • Ability to establish close interaction and collaboration with regional Engineering Leadership and Tech Centers.
