The Tower Internals Manager will provide leadership to a high skilled and global engineering team executing business critical new product developments, delivering project-specific designs, driving cost competitiveness, and ensuring world class subsystem performance of the Haliade X tower internal components.
This is a global engineering leadership role where the scope of the team includes mechanical and electrical sub-systems and components for GE offshore wind towers. You will work together with Supply Chain, EHS and Operations among other relevant stakeholders to deliver the best solution from a whole value chain perspective.
Mechanical sub-systems include components inside the tower such as platforms, service lift, access ladder, anchor points, cable trays and mechanical fixation of HV cables as well as interfaces of these components with the foundation.
The main electrical components include HV cables and switchgear. In addition, there are auxiliary electrical systems including IP-phones, IP-cameras, weather station, small transformers, internal power supply & UPS, electrical cabinets (LV Switchgears), lighting system & aviation lighting system (beacons), power sockets, arc flash guard system, fire protection system, lightning & grounding systems and sensors.
Moreover, the team actively engages with the communications network architecture, safety systems and the input/output requirements from other teams, while it provides engineering support to tower manufacturing activities during assembly of the tower internals.
Finally, you will be responsible for delivering good practice solutions using sound engineering judgement and applying lessons learnt to the different tower projects.
