Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Robotic Architect - Software and Control (d/f/m).

We are looking for a robotic architect with focus on software for space robotic systems in all project life cycles. The focus of our German robotic team is on software and operations aspects for in-space servicing, assembly and manufacturing applications.

This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Compose robotic systems and drive as output the software architecture, functional performance & operations compliant to customer mission requirements;
  • Develop new robotic software solutions and reuse existing software building blocks;
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to develop systems, products and services through the entire lifecycle;
  • Engage and shape robotic roadmaps together with the robotic team and identify risks and gaps;
  • Secure development process in time, in quality and in costs by performing early validations and refining system requirements;
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of engineering requirements and designs;
  • Follow up the implementation process and manage technical relationships with suppliers.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Master or Doctor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or Robotics;
  • Work-related experience in robotics system development with focus on software or control design, mechatronics and system design;
  • General understanding of robotic and autonomous systems and the needed subsystems;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate;
  • Highly developed time-management and organization skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Business fluent English skills.

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
