  • Establish a vision for both high-volume characterization and system-level innovation of novel biochemical sensor system products;
  • Manage a team responsible for bridging Sensor Design, System Architecture, and Test/Operations functions, who will:
    • Define and implement measurement & characterization platforms;
    • Develop flow cells and fluidic functions to facilitate well-controlled liquid-phase measurements and drive system-level product innovation;
    • Identify paths to scale these platforms to higher throughput;
    • Optimize signal chain architectures to extract the highest quality sensor measurements;
    • Drive the incorporation of advanced algorithms to add value to the final product solution;
    • Leverage external expertise effectively to accomplish its goals.
  • Oversee the successful execution of the relevant functions, adapting and expanding the team as appropriate, resulting in product release to biomedical customers;
  • Work with peers to establish technology and product roadmaps;
  • Innovate to help establish a comprehensive IP portfolio across all aspects of sensing: design, materials, manufacturing, signal processing, fluidics, and test.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline;
  • 10+ years of experience in high-volume product development in semiconductor, biomedical, or related industries;
  • 5+ years of management experience with a record of developing talent and establishing a collaborative work culture;
  • Functional management fundamentals including budget, resource & schedule planning;
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills coupled with a demonstrated ability to work at a high level of performance both independently and in teams;
