Role Description:

You will join the Modelling and Simulation Department. As a synthetic imagery & sensor simulation specialist, you will manage and integrate COTS IG solutions within real-time simulation products that simulate multi-spectral sensors and the physical world in which they operate such as airport infrastructure, ground/air traffic movements, ATC communications and weather.

Your main activities will be to:

  • Benchmark synthetic image generator (IG) solutions for multi-spectral sensor simulation;
  • Select, configure and integrate COTS IG solutions including terrain databases and 3D object animation scenarios (ground equipment movements, airport air traffic) in support of artificial intelligence machine learning “training” and V&V;
  • Ensure products performance and representativeness;
  • Provide technical support to our customers.

Within this position, you will:

  • Work on image based aircraft functions contributing to critical systems such as Flight Controls, Autopilot, Navigation systems and general safety of flight, and thus develop multi-system competencies;
  • Acquire a global picture of Design Office, Flight Tests and Training activities on all programs inside AIRBUS.

You will deal with:

  • Design Offices from different sites (France, Great Britain, Spain and Germany);
  • Ground Test Means and flight test teams;
  • IG tools and database suppliers.

Skills and experience:

  • You are curious, you want to learn and to evolve in a dynamic team;
  • You love technical challenges and you want to work with different partners, in a multicultural environment, to enrich your aircraft knowledge.

Technical Skills:

  • Software knowledge: Linux, C & python;
  • Applied computer science to be able to handle different information and build virtual aircraft;
  • Good knowledge of optical, IR and RF sensor image generation and synthetic environment simulation tools;
  • General understanding of visual database development;
  • General understanding of Aircraft operation and airport terminal operation;
  • A working level of English is needed.
