Description:
We are currently recruiting for an Industrial Engineer to join the team based in Darlington. Required to establish balanced and efficient production lines and work with the Operations Management teams to determine the correct manning levels to run the production lines. The Industrial Engineer will also coordinate a small team of Industrial Engineering Technicians.
Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:
- Evaluate work activities performed by individuals or machines to identify opportunities to optimize operating time and distributing of the work content to meet the changes in customer demands while continuing to optimize manufacturing processes;
- Produce written manufacturing procedures in proper sequence which are followed correctly by all approved stakeholders to establish continuity in processes and standardization;
- Create and/or modifies an optimized manufacturing process by incorporating knowledge of equipment, human interfaces, sequences of production steps, and facilities requirements in order to reduce process time and waste;
- Extract insights from data by identifying relationships and patterns through use of a suite of data exploration and data visualization techniques to understand the underlying structure of the data and enable sound conclusions upon model building;
- Use digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes, equipment and performance to make data driven decisions before changes are made and to drive continuous improvements.
To be a success in this role you will need:
- HND or Bachelors’ degree in Manufacturing Engineering or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics;
- Proven experience in an Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering background;
- Proficient using Microsoft Excel;
- IMS qualified would be highly beneficial.
