THE MISSION
The task is to take ownership of all electronics related topics in the propulsion team (e.g. sensors, engine control unit integration, harnessing etc.) You will be responsible for the sensor selection, integration, testing and qualification. Apart from that, the coordination of the electrical engine interfaces with the Avionics team will be part of the responsibility. You will make sure that propulsion system is well understood and modelled in Avionics and GNC models
More specifically, you will:
- Take full responsibility of the electrical integration of sensors and wiring in the propulsion systems
- Work on electrical interfaces with other departments (Avionics etc.)
- Coordinate with other departments to integrate the electronics to the engine (sensors, harnessing, TVC system)
- Support the engine testing and qualification efforts on the electrical sub systems
- Prepare test plans and conduct test analysis to make sure that your components are well performing
- Lead the technical communication to suppliers and our partners
- Provide model-in-the-loop/software-in-the-loop/hardware-in-the-loop models for propulsion system to the Avionics team
- Work on acoustic and thermal loads in the engine to assess their influence on electronics as well as to the launcher
WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU HAVE
Musts:
- B. Sc/M. Sc in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or similar
- Practical experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software, especially for electronics modelling
- Deep understanding of the interaction between mechanical-/ electrical-/ and electronics-engineering and systems
- Some experience with acceptance and qualification tests for space systems, both in mechanical and electrical field
- Experience with supplier management and systems engineering, preferably in electronics
- Comprehensive understanding of electronic circuits, sensor inputs and outputs
- Exceptional comprehension of engineering fundamentals: aerodynamics, mechanics, acoustics and heat transfer
- Experience in Simulink modeling
- Basic theoretical and hands-on background with electronics
- Basic knowledge in Python or similar programming languages
- Fluent in English and German (because of the local supplier contacts)

- Profound theoretical background on electronics
