Your role:

  • Accountable for development of Technology Strategy, annual Technology budget, propose technology projects ranking and selection, technical execution of R&D process and technology projects;
  • Manage all 10 Technology locations in HQ and Branch offices (incl. Petrom & Malaysia), with accountability for Upstream Technology budget of 60mn;
  • Develop selective R&D programs to tackle business critical challenges in cooperation with business;
  • Management and development of Technology Excellence team - 190 staff members globally;
  • Advise SVP and Executive Board on emerging, forward looking technologies e.g. H2 storage, CCU, Geothermal and manage overall Upstream Technology activities;
  • Ensures Technology implementation & optimization and Technology development & services expertise, services and support to OMV Upstream Operations, OMV Upstream Development and possible other stakeholder within OMV: - Responsible for integrated concept development and technical feasibility assessment of new technologies;
  • Define, maintain and ensure compliance with the key processes for Upstream;
  • Act as a central interface for knowledge sharing and exchange of expertise within Upstream globally, be responsible for internal and external communication in regards to Upstream Technology, actively promote Upstream Technology internally and externally;
  • Responsible to utilizing inter-divisional synergies with OMV stakeholders and counterparts in regards to technology development;
  • Build and foster strong relationships with relevant industry and academia representatives, authorities and partners. Act as key focal point for Upstream technologies for external stakeholder and interested parties;
  • Technical Authority for Technology (TECH TAF).

Your profile:

  • University degree Master/Diplom in Engineering, Physics, Petroleum Engineering, or Geoscience;
  • Minimum 20 years work experience, of which 15 years experience in E&P technology development;
  • Demonstrable experience in conceptualizing, developing and managing new technology portfolio/programs;
  • Experience with managing complex teams and utilizing interdisciplinary synergies;
  • International work experience; including onshore and offshore;
  • Ability to build lasting/trusting relationships with partners;
  • Advanced influencing, communication and presentation skills;
  • Mentoring & coaching skills, able to develop people and build high performing teams.
