As a member of the ZEROe project, you will join a team of highly motivated and valuable people who are involved in aircraft concept exploration, technologies development, next generation industrial system and future hydrogen ecosystem preparation that will shape the development of our zero-emission aviation.

We are looking for a talented candidate who can reinforce our project team by bringing your experience in the field of Fuel Cell Systems, Balance of Plant components as well as Simulation of Fuel Cell Systems and respective Controls Development. On top you will be making a difference through proven interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Your Accountabilities

As part of Airbus and to accelerate the development of a Zero Emissions Aviation, you will drive the development of the Fuel Cell System Balance of Plant components as well as simulating fuel cell systems and developing the respective controls algorithms. This ranges from defining and sizing components, selecting the technology and implementing it with suppliers as well as creating component, system and the accompanying controls models.

Your Main Responsibilities

As such:

  • You will design the fuel cell system balance of plant components such as pumps, valves or humidifiers;
  • You will identify component requirements and core parameters based on the fuel cell system architecture, system trades and their respective controls algorithms;
  • You will drive the system level integration while ensuring safety when using hydrogen, compressed air, coolants as well as high voltages inside the system;
  • You will drive the definition of component, system and controls models as well as their respective implementation according to the multi-system architecture;
  • You will ensure model accuracy, system interoperability, numeric performance and robustness for static and dynamic simulation cases;
  • You will improve the maturity of the Airbus fuel cell system modeling, simulation and controls development methodology;
  • You will lead activities with internal and external partners including suppliers and the academic world.

Who We are Looking For

Because ZEROe is preparing the future of aviation, we look for a highly skilled and passionate colleague, able to bring his/her energy and expertise into the Airbus engineering universe.

As such:

  • You have a degree in engineering, science or equivalent combined with several years of professional experience in fuel cell systems and/or related components, in multi-system simulation as well as model based controls development in the automotive sector or in other domains;
  • You are experienced in physical system architectures and respective component integration;
  • You know how to work with simulation tools and environments such as Dymola/Modelica and/or Simulink;
  • You show strong competencies in thermo-dynamics and fluid-dynamics;
  • You are a proactive and highly motivated person with a great sense of initiative and the ability to manage confidential topics;
  • You show strong communication, interpersonal and networking skills;
  • Your English is at negotiating level, whereas additional language skills in French/German/Spanish are considered a plus.
