Linnk Group, on behalf of our client - a leading global multi-billion-dollar blue chip organisation, are seeking an experienced and business-oriented Engineering Deployment Lead to lead the project execution for the continued expansion of our clients UK & EU fulfilment network.

Sector: Supply Chain/Logistics/Fulfilment
Type: Contract (long term opportunity including opportunity for permanent transition)
Length: 3-6 months rolling
Location: Italy (50% travel across Europe)
Start: January 2022

Overview:

Successful candidates will be natural self-starters who have an Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and/or Construction background. The role will understand the details of Fulfilment Centre design, implementation, modelling, estimating and managing new or retrofit Fulfilment Centres. This job requires a unique combination of flexibility, creativity, innovation, leadership, and effective communication.

The Engineering Deployment Lead will have an entrepreneurial approach, will have high work capacity while being detailed oriented and agile to manage business changes and keep driving the initiatives. This individual will provide leadership in managing the build specifications, pre-contract work, internal teams and vendor relations. This individual needs to be comfortable interfacing and driving various functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization in order to be successful.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and track the install progress, quality and validation of all electrical and mechanical systems installed by the Deployment Engineering team;
  • Leading large teams through setup and configuration of software, hardware, and robotics systems;
  • Managing onsite relationships with multiple internal and external teams during the on- site implementation systems;
  • Assist third party assemblers by motivating, providing guidance and direction;
  • Performing on-site hardware and software support during initial system deployment;
  • Daily communication (written and verbally) with peers, management, contractors and vendors;
  • Troubleshooting - Ability to identify problems and understand resources needed to resolve them;
  • Tracking the deployment inventory, including spare parts, while working with supply chain to resolve any discrepancies or issues.

Skills & Accreditations:

  • BS in Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field;
  • Ability to prioritize, schedule, and logistically support multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines;
  • Comfort with detailed and complex technology including software, hardware and robotics;
  • Self-motivated and able to solve problems independently and in team settings;
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, (written and verbally) with peers, management, contractors and vendors;
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize different projects and workload;
  • Proven ability to work successfully with little supervision;
  • Desire to perform a mix of technical and non-technical challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior success in fast-paced environments demonstrating innovative problem-solving skills;
  • Experience working in environments like warehouses or construction sites.
