The Airborne Equipment Mechanical Design Engineer reports to the Head of Airborne Equipment Development and is responsible for the design, development & qualification of the mechanical enclosures and environmental qualification for systems and equipment which are developed in-house.
You will initially be responsible for establishing our in-house equipment mechanical design and qualification capabilities, including definition of processes, procedures and design/development tools. You will also assist with the training of the mechanical design team to execute the projects.
You will be part of a small multi-functional team, closely working with the equipment integration team, aircraft system groups, and airframe design & systems installation groups to optimize the mechanical design of the equipment.
As part of the Airborne Equipment Development team, you will be an internal supplier of equipment and systems to the aircraft system integration groups. You will therefore support the Airborne Equipment Development team at program/technical reviews.
As part of our approved Design Organization, you will also be responsible for ensuring adherence to all engineering processes/standards.
