Join our Sulzer Turbo Services team, part of Sulzer Rotating Equipment Services (RES), which is one of the world's most advanced independent providers of repair, overhaul, and maintenance within the turbine industry. From Venlo (Lomm) or on site, we provide our customers worldwide with solid, customer-oriented, and flexible support for their Compressors, Steam and Gas Turbines. In this role you will be accountable for:

  • You will be the Engineer for our Steam Turbines operations and maintenance activities in the field service engineering team;
  • You will be based in our Sulzer Venlo location and expected to travel to customers/on site on a regular basis;
  • Based on your experience, diagnostics, and analysis you will guide our service teams to ensure continuous and reliable operations of our customers equipment;
  • To set up engineering procedures, work scopes and specifications for inspection and maintenance of steam turbines (up to approx. 75MW) and in accordance with our Sulzer quality and safety standards;
  • In addition, you will assist the sales department whenever needed to visit our customers for technical alignment and you will support our tendering engineers by analyzing requests for quotation in order to decide the scope of work, tooling and schedules required;
  • Finally, you enjoy to actively develop our teams on specific engineering skills on steam turbines and using your extensive field service knowledge and experience.

To succeed in this role, you will need to:

  • Have a degree in (mechanical) engineering;
  • Have a minimum of 10 years extensive field service (site) experience with Steam Turbines maintenance and engineering in the following industries: Oil & Gas (refineries), Petrochem, Air Separation, and/or Power Generation;
  • Have experience with inspections, equipment failure investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and typical findings;
  • Have knowledge of proven site refurbishment techniques and knowledge of used materials in the equipment;
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English;
  • Have excellent developed communication and presentation skills;
  • Have a proactive and flexible attitude with the willingness to international travel for up to 70% of your time.

We are based in Lomm (close to Venlo), which is a great place to live. You can choose to live with the benefits of a city like Venlo, Eindhoven or Nijmegen which are all within an hour of travel or in the quieter villages close to our facility. Venlo is known as a strategic European logistic hub, close to the German border, with the availability of a highway network into all directions and easy access to international airports of Eindhoven, Düsseldorf and Weeze.
