We are looking for an Inverter Hardware Design Specialist to work in the area of Power Inverter development within R&D Power Electronics

The candidate will be involved in the following activities:

  • Investigate and qualify new technologies related to Power Electronics
  • HW design of leading-edge inverters for automotive applications.
  • Mid power Inverter (50 – 200 kW)
  • Design and optimization of power passive components (inductors, transformers, film capacitors, EMC filters)
  • Contribution to interdisciplinary simulations (electric, mechanical, thermal, electromagnetic, matlab/simulink)
  • Development of gate drive circuits for Si and WBG devices
  • Development of solutions for EMI/EMC reduction and filtering.
  • Define and oversee characterization and validation testing of components and circuits
  • Perform FMEA analysis on components and subsystems
  • Provide support to company staff during development and start of production.
  • Technical documentation during all development phases.
  • Develop relationship with international suppliers
  • Willingness to define and achieve innovative goals

Key Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering - preferred specialization in Power Electronics,
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years in power electronics design, preferably in the automotive area.
  • Good experience in Inverter design (in any application: automotive, railway, industrial)
  • Switch mode Power Supply design
  • Knowledge of connectors and interconnection system in automotive application
  • State of the Art Wide Bandgap power devices and driver circuitry
  • Good knowledge of CAD tools, SPICE software and related simulation tools, preferably Matlab/Simulink.
  • FMEA Analysis
  • Good competence in the use of measuring and laboratory instruments such as: oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers etc.

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze, improve and standardize processes
  • Excellent knowledge of Electronic design tools and processes
  • Knowledge of Cadence Schematic entry or equivalent
  • Knowledge on Simulink/Matlab

Language Skills:

  • Good English knowledge is mandatory.
