As a vehicle dynamics test engineer you collaborate with the project manager and technicians.
Assess the performance of the vehicle in terms of ride and handling capability;
Tune the relevant chassis elements and/or electronic chassis control systems in order to reach the performance targets established by the client;
Perform regular joint test sessions with the client to assess the vehicle performance and the progress towards the targets;
Report the results of vehicle tuning and/or evaluation activities;
Supervise the test technicians during the preparation of test vehicles, ensuring the fulfilment of technical and safety procedures;
Give support to the project manager for the planning of testing activities.
Degree in mechanical engineering, preferably with specialization in automotive engineering;
Very good knowledge of vehicle dynamics principles and automotive technologies in general;
Significant experience in vehicle dynamics testing, particularly chassis performance evaluation and tuning of one or all of the main elements: tyres, steering, suspensions, electronic chassis control systems;
Excellent driving skills. Ability to drive consistently the vehicle and characterize the vehicle behavior from a sensitive point of view. Ability to control the vehicle at or above grip limit, on any type of surfaces. Experience on Nurburgring racetrack is an asset;
Logical thinker with good problem-solving skills and the ability to promote pragmatic solutions;
Client-oriented mindset, used to work with automotive OEMs and Tier-One suppliers;
A confident and diplomatic communicator both internally and directly with the client;
Excellent proficiency in German (both written and oral), native is an asset;
Excellent proficiency in English (both written and oral);
Other languages are beneficial, particularly Spanish.
