Overview of the role:

This role will assist in the negotiation and management of contracts across the Veolia Ireland Business portfolio. Manage contract preparation and execution control. Work with project management and site management to ensure satisfactory completion of contractor’s work.

Deliver all of the commercial management processes required to ensure that the business realises the maximum sustainable value for all of our contracts and projects. To manage the risks associated with contract commercial management and ensure efficient procurement of materials and services.

Duties:

  • Compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures;
  • Assisting in delivering the Veolia Ireland commercial strategy;
  • Ensure the Project Teams are adhering to all Contractual requirements and providing advice and monitoring of same;
  • Safeguarding scope, program obligation, analysis of variations, delays and damages risks and opportunities;
  • Ensure your Construction Team’s Monthly applications are all inclusive of accurate remeasures, site changes, dayworks and any applicable contract claims. Identify escalations, material or labour variations, etc. as appropriate;
  • Assist in the estimating, pricing and quantity surveying on all major projects and assisting the project team on smaller projects;
  • Working with the Business Development team developing bids and responding to tenders;
  • Interfacing with the Finance team to ensure accurate reporting of project finances;
  • Reporting on commercial performance to key stakeholders including Country senior management and the senior leadership team;
  • Provide visibility on actual progress achieved in relation to contractual and regulatory obligations and assist with schedule recovery as required;
  • Evaluate contractor performance after project completion;
  • Identify claims and give timely notice;
  • Establish the legal ground of claims with an estimate of recovery;
  • Primavera P3/6 experience for preparing programmes and for delay analysis and substantiation;
  • Defend against claims for accelerations, disruption or losses;

  • Ensure claim defense, prepare counterclaims;report on risks and opportunities;
  • and analyze and mitigate risks;
  • Strong written communication abilities, and the ability to negotiate a strong commercial position for the company are also essential.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3rd level Qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Building Services Engineering - or strong senior trades background;
  • 5+ years of experience in a Project Manager/Contracts Management role working for a recognised M&E Construction company within Ireland, UK or Mainland Europe;
  • Experience or exposure to civil engineering practices;
  • Strong ability to negotiate a favourable commercial position for the Company essential;
  • Strong written communication abilities, and the ability to negotiate a strong commercial position for the company;
  • Proficiency in Primavera P3/P6.
