This role is a global design engineering role where the scope of the team includes Power Conversion (PC) electrical sub-systems and components for GE offshore wind turbines.
The purpose of the job will cover from conceptual design and functional specification to testing, validation of the Power Conversion electrical systems of the most powerful offshore Wind Turbine up to date.
In this role, you will deliver engineering designs/requirements, execute business critical New Product Introductions, drive cost competitiveness, and ensure world class subsystem performance of the biggest offshore Wind Turbine up to date. You will work together with Supply Chain, EHS, Operations relevant stakeholders among others, to deliver the best solution from a whole value chain perspective.
Components involved in Power Conversion subsystem like Power converters, main power transformer, Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG) control, but also grid integration modeling and wind farm stability study to ensure proper integration of the Haliade X Offshore turbine on the grid.
In addition to component approach, it’s requested to make sure that each component will operate in harmony with the other and results in full subsystem performance in compliance with Power Conversion design requirement inherited from turbine system requirement.
