Role Summary:

As Senior Director, Front End Engineering, you will be responsible for the global Front End Engineering team and will report directly to Vice President of Engineering. You will be leading and managing the customer focused unit which includes teams of conceptual design, aero-acoustics and customer technical accounts.

Essential Responsibilities:

You will be part of the Engineering senior leadership team and will be expected to contribute to the collaboration and target achievement across the organization by developing variety of the products in demand to global customer needs.

Key responsibilities include:

Develop and maintain strong strategic, technical relationship with our customers to ensure consistent introduction of new products and technologies to customer’s requirements. Secure LM’s technical leadership and our target revenue growth in the market through best in class product offerings, value product and premium products. Develop thorough understanding of customer’s technology roadmap and Integration of LM technology to product offerings

Define, and drive strategic technologies, develop and deploy conceptual designs and advanced aerodynamic-acoustics’ technologies. Consolidate and combine engineering technology value to customer product offerings. Lead and secure customer engagement through technical account managers. Lead strategic planning and decisions on value added products and technology differentiators to customers and market

Deliver products at expected cost, performance, and budget to meet requested LCoE target, business value, and LM’s revenue target. Technical account focal point and requirement management for the full life cycles of blade offerings with customers and full best in class landed/cost of manufacturing, quality and manufacturing footprint

Lead projects within customer opportunity delivery program; ensure a robust technical roadmap development and expectation of performance and LCoE. Foster effective and close working relationships with engineering leadership, sales, commercial operations, and marketing to represent the full technical value proposition to customers

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Master’s or PhD in Mechanical engineering, Aerospace, or similar
  • Advanced technical knowledge of wind turbine design and rotor Impacting performance (AEP, loads, turbine, noise, stability)
  • Advanced business and product development knowledge, end-to-end manufacturing, technology integration/transfer
  • Solid business acumen, including proven track record on impact of cost at launch, quality, rollout, and contract negotiations, able to distinguish b/w value product & premium product.
  • Minimum 15 years of wind turbine sector expertise and wind sector exposure, including strong and proven wind industry network
  • Minimum 15 years of leadership experience, with ability to develop and coach an international team of leaders and highly technical experts
