Role Summary:

  • Our client are looking for a strong Process Engineer with experienced in all project phases.
  • They must have the skill set to bring the processes through front end design and detailed design.
  • They should have skill in assessing vendor tenders, managing vendor deliverables, FAT, Commissioning, SAT and Qualification.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review of tender documents, specifications, datasheets, verification of FEED design & calculations.
  • Experience in the Synthesis process would be preferred but not essential. e.g. reactors, evaporators, fume hoods, Solvent vessels, pumps (diaphragm/centrifugal), vacuum pump, jacket services heating/cooling.
  • Strong ability in producing, checking, reviewing and approving of project documents including PFDs, Mass Balance for process steps, Process URSs, vendor submittals, commissioning and qualification documentation.
  • Capable of managing multiple vendors, ensuring they meet their deliverables and align to the project schedule.
  • Advanced knowledge in DCS systems (Siemens PCS7 a distinct advantage).
  • Experienced in using DCS automation systems to run automation Equipment Phases on process equipment like those listed above.
  • Development & control of equipment and line lists.
  • Manage and analyse the specification of process equipment and technical bids from vendors, ensuring compliance with the requirements.
  • Preparation & Issue of RFQ’s, evaluation of vendor’s quotations, clarifications, Technical Bid Analysis etc.
  • Experienced in checking process calculations & critiquing P&IDs.
  • Design/Author/Review/Approve/Execute qualification/validation documentation and studies in line with the standard approval process.
  • Review of vendor’s documents, drawings, datasheets, specifications and calculations and handover manuals.
  • Liaising with other discipline personnel to ensure smooth project running.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams to ensure project and site stakeholder inputs and requirements are clear and reflected in design deliverables.
  • Ensure all project stakeholders are informed and consulted on key process suite activities and decisions.
  • Monitor progress of process suite team milestones with all team members and provide status reports.
  • Manage team to complete process safety deliverables.
  • The role may some (limited) travel to support vendor reviews & FATs.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum qualification B.Sc. or M.Sc./M.Eng Degree in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years post academic process engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead/influence teams.
  • Excellent communication/presentation/organizational skills.
  • In depth understanding of process engineering and technologies.
