You will take the lead for one of our major marine infrastructure projects.
You are the main point of contact between the client and your team and you work together with external partners (such as our partner in the joint venture, other design and engineering consultancies, subcontractors, contractors during the construction phase, etc.) in a constructive way.
You will be the main liaison officer between the different competence centres in Tractebel and our partner in the joint venture for water infrastructure, road infrastructure, spatial design, mobility and equipment. You coordinate with the marine engineering design by the Ports and Waterways team.
You are responsible for the follow-up of progress, quality, and financial performance of the project executed by your team. You ensure systematic follow-up of the project, by watching over customer satisfaction and foreseeing deteriorations in financial performance.
You are the contracts manager for all disciplines.
You take the lead in the coordination of the design between disciplines, which will be executed by experts.
You take a role as principal engineer of the project and coordinate and coach our junior engineers and CAD designers.
You enhance an integrated design process by looking transversally over the different disciplines involved and you take the project from concept design through to completion.
You are responsible for ensuring the respect of budget, the timing and the quality of our engineering services and the works on site.
You ensure that the project assigned to you is executed in accordance with our quality system and H&S rules.
You dimension marine infrastructure projects following current Belgian and European standards, legislation, codes of practice and internal guidelines.
Coordination of the design of a lock, bridges, a tunnel, infrastructure for roads and tunnels, quay walls and elektromechanical equipment.
Prepare designs (preliminary, basis, tender, detailed) for marine structures such as Port & waterways development studies: Port Master planning, locks, Quay walls, Jetties, Bridge foundations, Flooding areas, dikes, Breakwaters and perform analyses to find the optimum installation method of these structures; always with an open mind for innovative and alternative solutions.
You follow up and verify the drafting work with the discipline leaders.
You are part of the Port and Waterways team.
You develop your technical skills (SCIA Engineer, DSheet Piling, Ansys, Plaxis, …).
You keep up with standards, new techniques and developments in your discipline.
Ensure knowledge development and sharing related to your expertise.
You have a master’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, civil engineering technology or architectural engineering.
You have at least 10 years of project management experience in marine engineering works, large infrastructure projects, civil works or multidisciplinary projects for public clients.
You are a generalist rather than a specialist, with background in marine engineering, civil or structural engineering, infrastructure design.
Knowledge in the design of one of the other disciplines (marine engineering, structural design, civil engineering or MEP) is an asset.
You have extensive knowledge of current Belgian and European standards, legislation, codes of practice and internal guidelines in infrastructure, including building consent (omgevingsvergunning Vlaanderen).
You have good knowledge of contracts management for public clients.
You have experience in financial reporting in public projects.
You have experience with competitive bidding: conceptual design, quick estimation of building cost, definition and negotiation of the fee, presentation to the client or authorities, etc.
Knowledge of Design Standards (ISO, EC, NEN, EAU, …).
You are fluent in Dutch and you have a professional level of English.
