Your responsibilities and tasks:

Objective of the function

The Sales Support Engineers together with the Marine Sales Engineers form our sales team. They determine together the wishes and needs of the customer and also determine the sales strategy; As a Sales Support Engineer you are responsible for advising, designing and calculating customer-specific refrigeration solutions. Efficiency, sustainability, innovation and differentiation are our top priorities.

Place in the organization

The job is carried out from the headquarters of GEA RT Marine in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. The Sales Support Engineer is under direct supervision of the Manager Sales Support & Offer Management and works in a team of Marine Sales Support Engineers and Marine Sales Engineers.

Characterization of the activities

  • Map (among other things) the wishes of the customer and co-determine the sales strategy with the Sales Manager;
  • Advise, design and calculate customer-specific refrigeration and heat pump solutions;
  • Assess the offers from third parties and provide all refrigeration calculations, cost calculations and principle drawings;
  • Deliver a commercially and technically sound calculation and subsequent quotation;
  • Present calculation and quotation to the customer together with the Sales Engineer;
  • Ensure accurate quotation monitoring and follow up requirements;
  • Responsible for resource planning to meet often demanding timescales;
  • Provide the necessary documentation required for project handover to the execution department.

Your profile and qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree (or an equal level by experience), preferably in refrigeration and/or mechanical engineering;
  • Min. 5 years’ experience in sales and budget responsibility;
  • Sales network within the marine industry, preferably in the cruise market;
  • Effective communications and negotiation skills (verbal and listening);
  • Team building skills;
  • Effective decision making and problem solving skills;
  • Interest in other (business) cultures;
  • Experience in working in an international setting;
  • Fluent in English and one or more other languages are preferred;
  • Willingness to travel on a regular base (±25%).
