Job Description:

We currently have an opportunity for Project Engineer based in the area of Madrid. In this role, you will be responsible for executing Equipment & Engineering requests of the Nalco Champion division – Downstream (dedicated to Refinery & Petrochemical) in Europe, Russia and Africa (ERA).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage non-standard equipment engineering & automation projects from enquiry, initial scoping, basic design through to detailed engineering, supply, commissioning & start-up;
  • Work closely with the main Nalco partners/vendors for Process and Water related chemical treatments and interface with third party equipment providers placing orders in cooperation with Procurement and our Service Support Center;
  • Close cooperation with our research and technology department for our automation offerings and collaborate in equipment standardization;
  • Keep up with the Oil & Gas market on latest industry standards & regulations and contribute towards continuous improvement;
  • Comply with Safety and Environmental aspects of legislation to satisfy the stringent medical and health requirements required by Nalco Champion, which reflect the standards of the industry;
  • Work closely with onsite Nalco Champion Sales Representatives, Application Engineers and/or Service Technicians.

Required Qualifications:

  • A degree qualified mechanical, electrical or chemical engineer with and prior 5-10 year experience (min.) in project engineering within Oil & Gas industry (field experience would be highly considered and experience with Instrumentation/Automation is preferred);
  • Knowledge of Oil & Gas design standards and regulations (ASME, API, ATEX..) and able to fulfill an SEQ (Scope, Estimate and Quote);
  • Previous expertise in managing Package Units and Modules Units would be required;
  • Ability to travel around the ERA region in order to provide field support and customer visits (up to 50%);
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, versatility to deal with colleagues from various business units, external partners or customers – good team-player;
  • Problem Solving attitude;
  • Project completion;
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
