Position Description:


Regional Strategic Supply Chain Management – Lead a group of site supply chain managers as well as coordinate with Supplier Development Managers and Category Managers in the region.

This position drives:

Organizational leadership:

  • Leadership and technical direction of Regional team to meet organization objectives;
  • Lead and promotes team collaboration and development plans;
  • Manage Regional supply chain resources to address and resolve platform critical issues.

Cross Functional Collaboration:

  • Ensure robust and timely cross functional communication and collaboration on all key accountabilities and objectives (GMs/Directors, Global Supply Chain).

Supplier Selection & Qualification:

  • Unify supplier selection process in coordination with supplier development and category managers to secure quality, delivery, reliability, spend leverage and control;
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to source best in class suppliers;
  • Leverage our design capacity to promote development and standardization of processes and procedures;
  • Strategic Management;
  • Drive supplier rationalization and volume consolidation to suppliers;
  • Develop short-and long-term vision and strategic plans for regional supply chain;
  • Integrate SC strategies and initiatives with platform strategic plans including Lead Product Operations/Secondary Product Operations (LPO/SPO);
  • Establish competitive advantage through identification and generation of cost reduction strategies;
  • Maintain an active role in developing and defining sourcing roadmaps to anticipate, apply, adapt or develop technologies for product introduction, quality and performance criteria to meet current and future demands in collaboration with SDM’s and Category Managers.

Category Strategy and Market Analysis:

  • Develop and deploy comprehensive best cost sourcing strategies with the help of low cost sourcing teams within site regions;
  • Map current and future sourcing strategies in order meet target market level pricing/lead times;
  • Develop influential relationships with assigned customers at all levels, and provide specific sourcing strategies, credibility, plans and actions that differentiate us from our competitors.

Advance Procurement:

  • Improve hit rate, margins and project execution;
  • Ensure a close alignment and interface with Commercial operations/Site Project Management/Advance Procurement and facilitate improvement of Price Make Up/Multipliers/Hit Rate for high impact projects on bid stage. Measure & Monitor KPI's on all these initiatives.


  • Create and execute Annual Operating Plan and Metrics for regional platform scope;
  • Drive, coordinate and implement via Category leads and cross functional teams sourcing strategies for major commodities with global/regional and site alignment;
  • Lead and manage Regional Sourcing Projects/Strategic Initiatives via Cross-Functional teams (Product Management, Engineering/Quality/Site supply chain leads) using APQP/PPAP and supplier surveillance processes;
  • Prepare business case study with savings/investments ROI calculations as and when required for critical projects;
  • Develop an optimized supply base based on strategic importance/procurement value/risk dependency aspects and performance levels;
  • Participate, and intensify key supplier relationships using strategic alliance models with emphasis in region;
  • Full integration with Category Specialist Managers and sites quality to drive supplier development and supplier performance improvement programs;
  • Lead and drive with the help of cross-functional teams the cost reduction roadmaps using Make/Buy and VAVE processes for major pump categories;
  • Mentor/Train the site supply chain teams and LCS teams on Supply Chain/category Management Skills/Practices. Energize and empower the work teams with adequate controls;
  • Maintain close interface with other Regional Supply Chain Managers in FPD.

Position Requirements:

  • Category Management/Supply Chain Experience at Regional/Global Level of 8 to 10 years;
  • Experience in Technical aspects of Foundry Castings, OSM, Forgings and Fabrications, motors, preferred;
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required;
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills;
  • Wide Cultural adaptability, Change Oriented, Stress resistant;
  • Flexibility and Mobile (Traveling 40%);
  • Ability to work in a Matrix and Network Organizational Model;
  • Good influencing Capability and Effective listening skills;
  • Practice rather than preach mentality;
  • Think Global and Act Local Mentality;
  • Proficient in written and verbal English, second language a plus.
