Description

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

  • You will develop new and existing customer relationships in the field of commercial marine, in order to maximise the sales of Cummins products and services.
  • You will take full ownership of and accountability for sales of marine power solutions – primarily across the Norwegian market, but also where appropriate covering Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
  • Leveraging Cummins’ excellent market profile and existing customer base, you will identify, develop and close new business opportunities with shipyard customers.
  • Lead generation and prospecting, e.g. by attendance at trade fairs and conferences, following up on warm leads and intelligence provided by Marketing.
  • Formulation of customer-contact/sales-call plans to ensure territory coverage and prospect contact is approached methodically and effectively.
  • Influencing of key decision-makers and strive to achieve win-win outcomes and long-term commercial relationships.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Ability to build and use relationships to gather customer information.
  • Ability to create a structured territory management plan to maximise new and repeat business.
  • Can demonstrate a high skill-level in planning and executing structured and effective sales calls.
  • Uses each opportunity to add value to customer contacts, and plans a contact strategy using CRM software.
  • Is able to use sophisticated negotiation tactics to ensure profitable and mutually beneficial outcomes.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Establish relationships and partnerships with integrators and system suppliers in the region to optimise the use of Cummins products
  • Role has responsibility for buildingrelationships within the marine team in Europe.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • Mechanical Engineering degree, or equivalent qualification in a technical discipline.
  • Alternatively, a sales or marketing-related degree or professional qualification allied to experience in a technical sales role (ideally within the Marine industry).
